TUNNELS BEACH RESIDENCE – KAUAI, HI
This Thai style residence was built almost entirely out of teak including the exposed scissor trusses. Authentic fish scale clay roof tiles were imported from Thailand to enhance the “Thai” quality. The residence, located in a tsunami flood zone, required the living spaces to be raised 12 feet above the ground. The lower level support spaces were designed with break-away walls. On Kauai, this residence is known as “The Teak House”.
